- software engineer -
I was born in 1997 in Valencia, Spain. I was lucky to speak both Valenciano and Spanish natively.
I learnt English at school and now speak it at a bilingual level.
I moved to the UK and studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester. I met some great people, had a lot of fun - eventually I graduated with an upper second class honours degree.
I was an active alumni of the European Youth Parliament (opens in a new tab) for 5 years. For some time, I was the president of EYP España (opens in a new tab).
EYP taught me public speaking and the importance of listening.
I did an industrial placement at Alfatec Sistemas (now Lãberit) (opens in a new tab) for a year, writing C# code for companies like Mercedes Benz. There I realised I loved software (opens in a new tab) and decided that's what I wanted to do professionally.
After university I worked at DAI (opens in a new tab) for some time. I was a member of the core tech team and mostly worked on implementing the infrastructure needed to modernise development practices.
I worked for ihateironing.com (opens in a new tab) for two years, a laundry start-up from south London. I loved working with their team and tech and still feel proud of what we achieved there.
I worked at Kraken Technologies (opens in a new tab) as a senior software engineer for around a year, pushing forward the vision of making a big green dent in the universe.
I'm currently working at Octopus Energy España (opens in a new tab), still within the Octopus Energy group, as the Head of Tech. I oversee everything Tech related for the company and honestly have a great time doing it.
I love to read. You can find some of my favourite books and recommendations here (opens in a new tab).
